The following question was raised at the Howth/Malahide Area Committee Services B meeting of Fingal County Council held at Baldoyle Library on September 1st.
Question from Councillor C. O’Callaghan:
“To ask the Manager will the Council improve the lighting at Seagrange Park, Baldoyle near the playground and Grange Road?”
Reply:
There is no lighting at the playground in Seagrange Park and there is no proposal to improve lighting. None of the playgrounds in Fingal County Council’s ownership have lighting and Fingal County Council would have concerns that such lighting would encourage inappropriate and anti social behaviour.

The following question was raised at the Howth/Malahide Area Committee Services B meeting of Fingal County Council held at Baldoyle Library on January 5th.
Question: Councillor C. O’Callaghan
“To ask the Manager will the Council install some lighting at the playground in Seagrange Park, Baldoyle to act as a deterrent to vandalism?”
Reply:
The Council does not provide lighting within its play facilities. The provision of lighting in the playground might increase the attractiveness of the area to anti-social elements during the hours of darkness.
